Warmer Vibes

I'll be the first to admit that I can not stand summer. Scorching temperatures, unbelievable humidity, mosquitoes, too many high waisted/booty short + crop top combos, and everything is crowded with children since they're out of school. That being said, it's not a surprise that I would not be found at a beach during the summer months. However, I do enjoy the tropical sounds, tastes, smells, and prints of summer. Tennessee has had a sneak peak of warmer weather this week with some upper 60 degree temperatures, and it inspired me to get my summer playlist and wardrobe ready.

To begin, I've started compiling my spring/summer playlist. Songs that make it on this playlist generally have some sort of relaxed island vibe while still being upbeat. Ideally, these would be songs I'd listen to while on the beach or poolside. Both are things I don't care to do, so I'll sit inside and listen to these songs in some air conditioning when the time rolls around. Lastly, as the weather has been decent, I've been looking for pieces for my warmer weather wardrobe (despite how much I hate summer clothing). One of my favorite trends right now are kimonos. They're incredibly light, versatile, and give great potential for playful patterns. It kills me to shell out over $20 for a kimono that every other girl in my town will also have, so I've gone the unconventional route and I've made my own. I made one for spring with a great floral print, and one more for summer with a bright, island inspired print. As much as it kills me to say it, here's to warmer weather!
